Things looking up [Taken from Live Spaces Blog, 24 julio 2005, 5:38]

It's been 48+ hours since my last blog. That's the longest since... since I started this thing, I think. Anyway...
I don't really want to post anything now. It's all either too boring or too secret. So... nothing new. Well, maybe one thing. Yeah...
On my last blog's night... (July 21-22nd I think), I didn't sleep at all. I just kept on working, typing till 5 am, then showered (cold water, against the very essence of my will), got a ride to my job my mom, and got there at 7 (even though I start at 8).
In that hour from 7 to 8, I left MS Office installing on my PC. Also, that hour was kind of a surreal experience. I kept dozing off every 5 seconds or so... and every time I found myself in a different situation, like, in college, and then, on a field, and then, on a spaceship, and, you know, you really feel like the dream is the real thing. And every 5 seconds I woke up to look at the monitor screen showing MS Office installation status. I felt that hour as long as days.
Bidkar got there at 8. Some talking to him and some hot, strong coffee evened me up for the day. We began the day killing time; I installed MSN Messenger, did some homework, drank lots of coffee, ate lots of cookies, talked, chatted... killed time. At about 11, the guy called Edgar gave us an old PC, 3 hard drives and 3 video cards, and asked us to find out if they worked.
The first and only contact I had had with a computer's physical stuff was inserting my 128MB DIMM. So, Bidkar took over the hard drive checking and formatting while I watched and did more Messenger, homework, coffee and cookies.
At 1300, Bidkar left. I took 1/2 hour off to go to lunch, but I didn't have any, and I decided to save some money by not having lunch. Got back to the office at 1330, and began checking the video cards. I borrowed a screwdriver from the guy called Adrian, and doing the best I could, I was able to find out where to insert the cards. And every time I switched cards, the computer took SO MUCH TIME to reboot, that I spent more time doing Messenger, homework, cookies and coffee. I read some "Gulliver's Travels", translated MSDN, installed APACHE, PHP, and MySQL (it's not as hard as I thought). I finished the cards at about 1500, and then just continued doing nothing.
At 1600, Bidkar called and said the FJBG had a dinner that evening at Hotel Plaza, to receive the candidates for the FJBG scholarship from outside the capital city. So I told my boss I was on urgent business (and that I wasn't doing anything anyway), so I left early, met Bidkar and some other Resi guys (El Maestro, Henry, Víctor) on the way (Torre del Reformador) and got at the Hotel at about 1700. We met the candidates, greeted Don Edgar, and spent about an hour talking and walking around. After that came dinner, we ate, talked with the candidates, gave some welcome and good luck speeches (which got KINDA long, the candidates were dozing off), and talked some more. Already there were Guicho, Aceytuno, Romina, Alejandra & Eugenio. Alejandra urgently asked me to help her in some Java project she has for monday, and then asked me my cell number so she could consult me during the weekend (she hasn't called, by the way).
After that two reporters from Siglo XXI came and interviewed Bidkar, Elder & me. (Elder is Güichito, he just came back about a week ago from the Mexico IMO). Then one of them took pictures of us holding hands and being happy. After that I took a ride with Mr. Richard (FJBG's photographer) back to the Resi, and then took a ride with my dad back home. Then I fell asleep.
And today was not THAT exciting. I didn't even go 50 feet away from my PC. But the image below kinda describes what I did all day. I hope the .gif shows animation.
Yep, the .gif shows animation. Just click on it to display it well.
