Well, nothing TOO extraordinary today. Woke at 6, breakfast (platanitos fritos con frijol), watched some Seinfeld (yay! ), and did and learned some more PHP. I got several calls, though... JM asked me to reassign some of his classes in college, MSDN told me the Windows Server I needed was ready, & Mr. Richard G.
asked me for some advice on buying a laptop.
So I left for MSDN at maybe 1330, took 3 buses, got there at 1430, and waited 1/2 an hour to get some attention. And had my lunch: 3 cups of coffee and a cup of water. I got the Windows Server all right... maybe at 1515... with no CD reader... and of course I had all my info on a CD. We tried copying it through the network... the network card was damaged. The technician replaced it... and no signal. 20 minutes later, he found out a local switch was unplugged... THEN it worked. Meanwhile, I copied my info into another PC, .PDF format of course. And no Acrobat Reader installed...
And the inconveniencies just kept on coming... it was 1800 when I actually began working. Out of the 39 demos I'm supposed to do, I finished 1. But I can't help thinking that ALL those problems will never come as surprises again. So it was ALL worth it.
I left at 1840, and took 2 buses to get to college during rush hour. Got there at 2000, reassigned JM's classes, and got about 10 minutes Compilers class. By that time I was wondering how was I going to get home. Good old Dad called at about 2040, and told me he'd pick me up in 1/2 an hour. So I waited. But there were enough people there to keep me entertained... we talked about dream trips to Germany 2006, girls, Belize trip, internet shopping, and a mathematical model that exemplifies the collapse of Mayan society.
My dad picked me up at 2146. We got home, I had dinner (arroz con chirmol), and I tried some more PHP. Now I have to wake up at 6 again... hmmm... got 4 hours of sleep left.
I realized I didn't even notice it was friday... weekdays don't mean much to me anymore.
