Wow!! What a conclusive day!!
(I think "conclusive"'s the word). Wanna know why?
Well, for one thing:
- I've been downloading Candy episodes by the dozen these days (Candy, a japanese anime cartoon. "Candy, uuuuuuuuu!!"). I found the ENTIRE SERIES up @ youtube.com, so I decided to download it ALL.
Of course, since the site doesn't like to let you download its videos,
I had to use a certain page to get the direct links for the videos (javimoya.com), and then I wrote a PHP script to automatically download all episodes from 1 to 115. It wasn't hard work at all, and it was fun. The boring part was WAITING for the things to download... darn it was slow! Anyway, I finished downloading the last three episodes this morning
, so I have it AAAAAAAALLLLL NOW!!!
. They are 246 files .FLV files, taking up 5.67 GB (6,098,324,269 bytes) of my hard disk space. It took me about a week of getting up early and downloading the files at college (data rate's faster over there), borrowing USB flash drives, burning CDs filled with episodes, copying data all the time... But now I'm FINISHED!!
What I'm going to do with it is another story. I guess I'll just watch it all someday. In any case, I think it makes for good collection material.
- I think I've been posting stuff about my final professional project before my graduation. It's the final course before getting a degree as an engineer, and it's been a slow walk down the road. Anyway, Bidkar and I just presented our project today!
I thought it was OK. We dressed up nice, set up animations inside the PPT show, practiced our lines (thanks a LOT to Alhvi for listening!!), and talked a lot. During the presentation, I blabbered a little, and sometimes stopped talking because I couldn't figure out what to say (it was a public presentation... 30 people were present watching us). But I wasn't nervous... what prevented me from being fluid was the fact that I had to be careful not to mention stuff that could give Bidkar, me, or the company we worked with, a bad name. Anyway, our departament chief thought it was OK. Good. I hope everyone else (especially our test examiners) thinks the same. So that concludes an important step in the Professional Project course.
- My mom got me a letter to get my phone fixed at the phone company. My phone's been giving me some trouble.. I have to fix it if I am to rely on it all the time. It sometimes says "Emerg. Calls Only", and I can't call anyone except emergency numbers (911 & stuff). And sometimes it just hangs up, out of nowhere... it's really odd. So, now I can finally get my phone fixed.
- My mom bought me my plane ticket for this december. So now it's only a matter of time before I migrate again.
That's all. Oh, and two cars ALMOST crash into the one I was driving today this morning.
At a crossing, I stopped cause a taxi was passing through. A car passed me on my left, not expecting the taxi. They crashed. Almost got ME, though... The second "almost-crash" happened like 15 seconds later... an unusual, crazy-looking man got in front of a moving car, so this car hit the brakes and almost hit me, on its left. The good thing is... he didn't.
