Tired. Because I've been walking? Or from waiting? or from waking up at 5am? Or from digesting 2 bean burritos & 1 nachos portion from Taco Bell and 1 chocolate milk & 1 oatmeal cookie from McDonald's. Maybe all. But I feel tired. And the handwriting from a homeless-seeming 72-year old who said he'd kill me if I asked for his wife's age again seems way clearer & crisper than mine. This man, knowledgeable in French, English, Spanish, and Chinese, and who said he knew 365 of them, but that knowing languages was pointless if one had nothing to say. And that everything in the world was vibrations, and that was it. And that he wanted to dance, and dance, and that the ultimate commandment of the world was to dance. And that he composed music, and that he translated Jimi Hendrix's heart from words like "I want to fuck you, lady" into "Foxy Lady", and others, and who wrote arcane-seeming symbols he called Chinese onto the first of about a hundred white sheets of paper. Neat symbols, not meaningless scribbles at all. But I couldn't read them. Some of them looked like:
And that knowledge is like breakfast, you don't just eat once and that's it. That one should keep knowing and learning more. And that one can't drive a woman like a car. And who said he was a marine since he was 1. And that a dervish told him to dance while he played music, continually, for 8 hours straight, to understand the 11 meanings of some arab-sounding saying: "La Lai lei la", or something of the sort. And that he did, and he understood 6 of them, some of which were "God is one in all", and "God doesn't need us", and "We need God", I think. And when I asked him what do we need God for, he said "to learn, to create, to dance", or something of the sort. And who said that a jew would thank you if you killed him, because he is so rotten. And that the root of evil is the unfaithful woman, that it kills a man. And that he had many wives, all around the world. And about the man who sold crack on the street because he felt, since he was little, that those people were looking for God (the crackheads), but that he didn't know what it was. And that they made a record, and with the money, all he wanted was a nice black hat. And that that was a holy man, sent by God. And that English was a practical language, because when you want to say something, you say it. And that with French, you can play around with it.
And now, at 8:58PM, heading to ABQ where a hostel reservation is in my name but I still hope to find some 24h Denny's or something.
I feel tired. Hostel seems like the way to go.
