I'll follow you with feline caution and discrete curiosity until I see/experience, rather than hear about, your real face and method. So far you're a magical box whose magic I have yet to perceive. Laura in Chicago

Spending 6 days in Chicago with Laura brought me a multitude of emotions and surprises that I honestly did not expect. Narrating my whole experience seems unnecessary, but I want to persist the main concepts that kept recurring in my mind as I spent time with her.

• "Recuerdo que dijiste que te gustaba, y bueno, eso no se me ha olvidado". And I reacted so objectively, so unemotionally. "The reason I'm not showing much emotion now is because I have repressed my feelings for you to avoid a catastrophe like it happened with Leila". True.
• "We click so well, but there are things that Alejandro has that you just... don't have". "Self-confidence?" "That's one of them". Boldness, sensuality, wittiness. Yup, I have scarce quantities of each. I'm working on it, but I'm a Pisces. So, you know, laid back, little motivation, easily swayed, eager to please.
• You're an Aries! I'm a Pisces! My mind was thinking "Aqeela is an Aries too. And their religions don't get along. Hmmm..."
• Our zodiac natal charts matched so well. Like we had THE SAME planet alignments?? Except for the sun, moon, ascendant, Mercury, and Venus, it all matched. I was just :O. And we DO click so well. She often said "we're basically the same person".
• I wanted to tell her that the reason I wanted to be with her was because she was so good, and motivated to do good deeds, that I wanted to serve my energy to helping her. She seems more driven, more focused - I could boost that and help her achieve her goals, since I don't really have any.
• We coincided with Roger many months ago, and we clicked immediately and liked each other from the start. We believe there has to be a reason for it, and we're looking for it. "Because I knew you, I know I've changed for good".
• Don't wish, don't start, wishing only wounds the heart. Related to wishing for her love and passion, wishing for my full health back.
• I honestly don't think I have enough faith to pray. But if you're up for it, I propose that you pray for me.

The day wakes up clear, bright blue, untouched by the flaws of last year. A speck of cloud far off up to the east, and nothing else. Just the stark contrast between here and far off, that lets me forget the heavy past, in exchange for the promise of a crisp, clear future. A chance to change things for the better? Always.
