Redemption

There is pure joy when one takes knowledge recently acquired and realizes it is directly applicable to the fields of trodden experience. One experiences an expansion, a realization that the world one knows and treads, and lives in at times hum-drum-ly or with attitudes of discontent or rebelliousness, is larger than one knew or believed. And immediately a renewed sense of wonder, curiosity, and possibility rushes in, and allows/guides one to take further steps in the direction that one's soul desires in the context of a wider space and model, and with openness and strength afresh.

I believe this is a form of redemption.

Breaks

Common breaks of consciousness:
  • Upon placing one's attention on other people and feeling startled or overwhelmed by the plethora of social anxieties, unspoken assumptions of etiquette and accepted/expected behavior that reside in our collective consciousness.
  • Also upon seeing another person, one can be swept away by specific attractions, repulsions, dislikes, hatreds, needs, worship, anxieties that we relate to this person, or by evaluations and subsequent judgements, and then further thinking and ruminating about what we desire, enjoy, or fear, or hate, etc... about this person or about their perceived appearance.
  • Also upon receiving a command or a suggestion, and being swept away by the reaction to obey, or to rebel, or to change one's focus abruptly towards listening, understanding, and heeding what they say or mean.
  • Also upon opening one's eyes, while focus is placed in the spaces within, and then being overwhelmed by the incoming wave of sensations, details, perceptions, interpretations, identifications, assumptions, perceived demands or needs or attractions or repulsions towards oneself by the fullness and the complexity and pervasiveness of space and by our position and part in it. Receiving this wave unto our consciousness abruptly, particularly if one is not aware of the myriads of inputs that space provides, can sweep our consciousness out of focus, breaking its continuity.
  • Also upon any such perceived force - attraction, repulsion, demand, need, fear, anxiety, excitement, surprise, etc - that can come from any source: memory, imagination, people, events in one's life, perceptions subtle and not, emotions, thoughts, anything.
One can practice and strive towards strengthening one's own focus, one's continuity of consciousness, if one is cognizant of the dynamics of consciousness, if one is willing and diligent to observe and pay attention to every single speck of information that is presented to oneself, and if one chooses to do so and persists, driven principally by one's own will.

When switching from one task to another abruptly, mostly when the following task is remembered surprisingly, and the former task is interrupted/abandoned without giving it a conscious closure.

Continuous

Humans often cleave in between the physical and the mental, believing objects and entities to belong or to relate to either one or the other, but not directly to both. This cleavage of consciousness hinders the understanding, the comprehension that both aspects are distinct parts of one continuous whole, and that the definite impact of either aspect upon the other is real, true, observable if one pays attention, and can be used for any purpose the will imposes, just as in our familiar interactions with matter.

All of the above applies also to the planes of the emotions and of the spirit, as they all form parts of the continuous weave of the whole.

Proprioception

proprioception
helps us sink
into the untold and untellable mysteries
that reside in our bodies.

the tingling stretches between limb and limb
the essence of shape pervading the matter of the mind
the frictions of sliding each particle against the next,
the wafting slopes of our membranes as they rise and fall,
as they aim to explore, absorb, and relish
the apparent emptiness of space.

sink

slow but steady I sink
I sink into the unknown.
no longer am I satisfied
with what is overtly shown.

the world spins, and yanks, and shoves me
but I now feel my insides beat
and though I hear the world chiding
I continue sinking in.

those outside demand I keep up
that inside reminds me to feel
and the stretching oppositions
hurt and break me as I heal.

No more do I deny my insides,
yet I refuse to reject the world.
for both complement each other,
as sacred halves of one whole.

The Human Game

Rushed and distracted
is this human world,
blaming each other
like parrots and crows.
Who among us will fix it?
Nobody knows.
While some fail, the rest mocks,
that's the way that it goes.

The thousands of eyeballs
around me glaze by
slaves to their problems
no time to say hi.
Mistrust is the master
of masses unknown (?)
waiting for something,
waiting to be shown.

And I search in vain
through a thousand eyes
for a smile.
and I seek to find
someone who'll sit with me
for a while.
Then I realize
behind their disguise
that they seek the same!
I think it's up to me
to change the game.

We fear that we're too large or we're too small.
We dread to stand, for then we risk a fall.
But if we fear our own path,
we can never be free.
Would you rather feel safe
or truly Be?

The evils and virtues
of this human world (of our world)
are forged and (are) carried
by our fellow souls.
Then blame (,/and) shame, and envy
become petty delays,
I hope that then we'll listen
to what we all have to say.

And I search in vain
through a thousand eyes
for a smile.
and I seek to find
someone who'll sit with me
for a while.
Then I realize
behind their disguise
that they seek the same!
I think it's up to me
to change this human game.

I think it's up to me
to play a new game.
